Fri 10 Jul 2026Year 2RE’s Growing Garden!
Year 2RE have been enjoying becoming young gardeners by growing tomatoes and sunflowers. We carefully planted tiny seeds and have looked after them by watering them regularly and making sure they had plenty of sunlight.
It has been amazing to watch them grow from tiny seeds into strong, healthy plants. Our sunflowers have grown so tall, and our tomato plants are thriving too! The children have loved observing the changes each week and learning what plants need to grow.
We are so proud of how well our plants have grown and of the care and responsibility the children have shown throughout this exciting project.

Fri 10 Jul 2026What a fantastic day at soft play with Nursery!
Our little adventurers had so much fun with all of their friends—sliding, climbing, bouncing, and exploring together. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, growing confidence, and lots of laughter throughout the session.
Days like these help build friendships, encourage active play, and create happy memories that will last a lifetime!

Thu 09 Jul 2026Year 4 Art Inspired by Nature
Our talented Year 4 pupils@RF have been exploring the beauty of the natural world through printmaking, inspired by this term’s nature theme and the incredible work of Sir David Attenborough.
Using real leaves, the children have created unique and colourful botanical prints, carefully observing the patterns, textures and shapes found in nature. Through this project, they have celebrated the importance of our environment while developing their artistic skills and creativity.
We are delighted to share that these beautiful prints will be available for parents and carers to purchase during our Festival of Us on Thursday 16th July. Every print is a unique piece of artwork and a wonderful keepsake of your child’s creativity and learning.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Festival of Us and hope you enjoy seeing the fantastic work our Year 4 artists have produced!

Thu 09 Jul 2026Year 1LB @RF have had a fantastic half term! We have been protesting about what we would like banned. The children waved banners around the classroom having come up with their own ideas. This was part of learning in English. We’ve read the book, ‘ The King who banned the dark’. We have also written our own narratives about what we would ban and why. They have done so incredibly well. As well as English, we have been continuing with our maths learning and challenging ourselves with more reasoning problems, which the the children have loved and put lots of effort into.
Special mention to Frankie, who has created a fantastic piece of homework based around our history topic of, ‘kings and queens’. He put a lot of effort into his research into King Henry VIII, well done Frankie. Also, a special mention to Vienna who has created some fabulous artwork at home, her drawings are wonderful and it has been so exciting for her to share these with us. Good job Vienna!
It has been a hot, busy and fun half term in Year 1. The Year 1 team are very proud.

Fri 26 Jun 2026This week, Rec LT @RF have been very busy despite the hot weather! We have been finding lots of ways to stay cool, including dipping our feet into tuff trays and pretending we were at the beach – it was so much fun!
In Maths, we have been doing some fantastic learning. The children have been exploring number bonds to 10 using objects on ten frames, showing great confidence in their counting and number skills.
We also enjoyed a very special visit from Year 5, who came to share some of their wonderful poetry with us. Reception listened beautifully and thoroughly enjoyed hearing the older children’s creative work.
The sunshine has encouraged lots of calm and focused learning throughout the week, and we are so proud of how well the children have worked. We hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

This term, our Art lessons have been inspired by the incredible work of David Attenborough, our learning about Nigeria, and the artists we have been studying. Pupils thoughtfully combined these themes to create vibrant, imaginative pieces that celebrate the beauty of the natural world, different cultures, and artistic creativity. We are incredibly proud of their enthusiasm, skill, and the wonderful outcomes they have achieved. Miss Elliott

Fri 26 Jun 2026Year 6 Explore Nigeria!
This term, Year 6 have been enjoying an exciting journey of discovery as they learn all about Nigeria. The children have explored where Nigeria is located, sampled traditional foods, discovered popular sports, learnt about famous landmarks, expanded their vocabulary with traditional words and phrases, and found out about inspiring Nigerian people who have made a difference around the world.
They have been fascinated by the country’s rich culture, history and traditions, and have loved sharing the many interesting facts they have discovered.
If you have any information, stories, photographs, artefacts, or personal experiences of Nigeria that you would be willing to share with us, we would be delighted to hear from you. Your contributions would help bring our learning to life and enrich the children’s understanding of this wonderful country.

Fri 26 Jun 2026In Year 2 RE @RF, we enjoyed a wonderful picnic in the shade. We sat together on the grass and ate our lunch with our friends. After lunch, we played fun games and laughed together. Everyone had a great time enjoying the warm weather. It was a happy day full of smiles, friendship, and fun memories!

Fri 26 Jun 2026Year 5ZS @RF have been busy exploring free verse poetry inspired by the weather this week!
We experimented with figurative language, using personification, metaphors and similes to bring the weather to life through our writing.
To finish the week, we performed our poems to each other and to Reception, focusing on using our voices, expression and emotions to engage our audience. We were so impressed with the confidence, creativity and enthusiasm shown by everyone. Well done, Year 5!

Fri 26 Jun 2026On Monday 15th June Year3 LT @RF had a ballet workshop with London Children’s Ballet. The talented teachers taught them how to leap, French ballet words, posture, the first steps. “It was ten out of ten,” said Luna. “I was embarrassed at first, but then I overcame it and felt really good at bout myself,” remarked Eli.
In Computing to celebrate the international day of play we had great fun solving jigsaws and making pottery. In computing we have been learning to make powerpoints.
I have also included a couple of photos of the children playing piano. We have loved learning songs on the piano in the music room.
