YR6LB News @RF

This term, our 6LB have dived into A. M. Dassu’s compelling novel, Kicked Out. The children have been thoroughly engrossed in the story, engaging in rich discussions around its powerful themes of friendship, empathy, and migration. It has been inspiring to see them reflect on what it truly means to offer a welcoming hand and stand up for one another, both in the classroom and within our wider community.

  • Rhylee: “I couldn’t put Kicked Out down! It really showed me what true friendship looks like when things get tough, and how important it is to stand by the people you care about.
  • Armela: “Reading this book helped me understand what people go through when they have to leave their homes and start over. It made me realise how welcoming we all need to be to new people in our community.”
  • Stephen: “Kicked Out is such an exciting story, but it also made me think a lot about fairness. My favorite part is seeing how the characters work together—it shows that friendship can overcome almost anything.”
