  Since returning for the summer term, Year 1CM @RF have been looking at their local environment and saying what they like and dislike about the areas they live and the playground. We have also been looking at both Wild and Garden Plants as you can see from our sorting exercise!

  This term in geography, Y4EB@RF are learning all about the rainforest! We have discovered that rainforests are warm, wet forests filled with tall trees, colourful animals, and amazing plants. They are found near the Equator in places like South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia.

  We talked about how important rainforests are for our planet. They help make the air we breathe by producing oxygen, and they are home to over half of all the world’s plant and animal species!

  We also learned about the different layers of the rainforest – the emergent layer, canopy, understory, and forest floor. Each layer has its own animals and plants living in it.

  Did You Know?

  – Some rainforest trees grow as tall as 70 metres – that’s taller than 15 giraffes standing on top of each other!  

  – The Amazon Rainforest is so big that it produces 20% of the world’s oxygen!

  What an exciting week we’ve had in Reception LG@RF! The children have been huffing, puffing, and building up a storm as we explored the classic tale of The Three Little Pigs!  We had lots of little wolves in disguise and some very brave pigs standing their ground!

  🌱💚 Go Green Day at Our Nursery! 💚🌱

  A huge thank you to our amazing families who not only donated plants, seeds, and bulbs but also spent their time with us getting our hands dirty and planting them together! 🌸🌿 It was such a special day of teamwork, exploration, and learning!

  We’ve been working hard to make our nursery garden look beautiful and ready for the summer term, and now we can't wait to watch all our efforts start to grow! 🌷🌞 These moments perfectly reflected the character strengths we've been learning about in our My Happy Mind sessions, like curiosity, teamwork, and growth. 🌱✨
