Fri 21 Jun 2024Reception LT@RF, have been learning about different countries around the world and this week we were cooking. We made Pain au Chocolat! Can you guess which country we learnt about? We know how to write a recipe and we can follow the instructions to make our yummy treat.
Everyone loved singing a French song and we also learnt the capital city of France is Paris. Some of the children have been to Paris. We found out how to get to France from London watched a video of the Eurostar train.
We cannot wait to learn about another country next week!

Wed 19 Jun 2024In 1MR @RF this week, we completed a maths investigation trying to find the largest total. We used lolly sticks to pick the numbers we wanted to add together, then made the numbers using practical resources and finally added them together.
In art we’ve looked at the artist Hans Holbein and the techniques he used to draw his portraits. We then used his pictures as inspiration for our own portraits.

Tue 18 Jun 2024YR4/5CR @RF had great fun exploring maths practically today. We used our logical thinking to solve multi-step problems to escape from the Greek Labyrinth! Thanks to all the dads and uncles who came in to help us get out too!

Fri 14 Jun 20245EB @ RF have been learning about Georgia O’Keeffe and her style of art. We started by researching her influences. In the following lessons we began looking at some of her floral pieces and her use of colour. After this, we started to look at some of her landscapes pieces and we brought this together by producing a mixed media piece as our final outcome.

Tue 11 Jun 2024Look at our hard working nursery children looking after our plants which are thriving in our garden due to the children making sure thay they have everything they need. Our plants are well watered (some are REALLY well watered), cared for by the children who planted them, and we’ve loved watching them grow. Have you realised how much our sunflowers have grown, they are are nearly as tall as US!
We’ve also been talking about how much we’ve all grown during our time in nursery. Our preschoolers are so ready for their next adventure into reception and we’ve loved watching them grow as much as the children have loved watching our plants grow!

Fri 07 Jun 2024Year 6ZS @RF were lucky enough to have a visit from Transport for London this week. We discussed how to travel safely, sensibly and respectfully as many of us will be travelling via bus or train to get to school next year! Thank you TfL!

Fri 07 Jun 2024In 1MR @RF this week, we completed a maths investigation. We had two types of ladybirds. There were red ladybirds with seven black spots and black ladybirds with four red spots.
We investigated which numbers we could make with adding 4s and 7s.

Fri 07 Jun 2024Year 2LB @RF have got off to a flying start this half term. We have been learning all about Japan in English and geography and have been comparing the UK with Japan.
We’ve also been having fun in maths, carrying out our own surveys and creating tally charts and pictograms.
We have been reading lots and the children have been brilliant at bringing in their books to be changed. We’ve got lots more to do this half term. We are also going to be focusing on making sure we are ready for Year Three and the fresh challenge of being in the KS2 and ‘the juniors’.
