Year 4EB @RF have had an incredible first few weeks back, and what a start it’s been! From exploring place value in maths to learning all about teeth and the digestive system in science, diving into rivers in geography, and uncovering the wonders of Ancient Egypt in history, they’ve been busy, curious, and full of enthusiasm.

In RE, we’ve been learning about Shabbat, and in English, we’ve been building our skills through exciting activities that spark imagination and creativity.

To top it all off, Year 4 were truly inspired by The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. The message to “just make a mark and see where it takes you” led to a burst of creativity — and the results are stunning! Their beautiful dot-inspired art pieces will be proudly displayed for all to enjoy.

We’re so proud of how well Year 4 have settled in and can’t wait to see what they create next!

It’s been an exciting start to the academic year for Year 6LD@RF! The students have come back to school with enthusiasm and are already showing their commitment to learning. It’s been wonderful to see how smart they all look in their school uniforms, ready to take on the challenges of the year ahead.

In Maths, we’ve been diving into place value, exploring the significance of digits in different numbers and how they relate to each other. The class is making fantastic progress and is really engaging with the concepts.

In Science, we’ve begun an exciting unit on “Animals, Including Humans”. This week, our focus has been on the heart. The children have learned about the role of circulation and the essential functions of the heart. We explored the different parts of the heart and how each one plays a crucial role in keeping our bodies healthy and functioning. The students have enjoyed these hands-on lessons and are looking forward to learning more about how our bodies work.

Overall, Year 6LD has made a brilliant start to the year, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the term has in store for them! Keep up the great work, everyone!

Last week, our 4EB @RF students had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Eltham College Art Exhibition—and what an inspiring experience it was!

From the moment they arrived, the children were captivated by the incredible range of artwork on display. They explored pieces created by older students, observing how colour, texture, and imagination came together in a variety of styles and mediums. The visit sparked lots of curiosity and conversations about different artistic techniques and how art can express thoughts and emotions.

While there, the creative energy continued to flow as Year 4 picked up their paintbrushes and got to work on their own watercolour pieces. Drawing directly from the inspiration they found at Eltham College, the students experimented with blending colours, creating washes, and using light and shade to bring their ideas to life.

The results? A stunning collection of individual artworks that reflect both their creative growth and the inspiration they drew from the exhibition.

We’re so proud of their thoughtful observations and the beautiful pieces they created. A big thank you to Eltham College for hosting such a vibrant and inspiring exhibition!

This week in RLT @RF the pirates came to visit.

We had so much fun dressing up and pretending to be pirates. We really enjoyed singing pirate songs and looking for lost treasure using our pirate maps.

Then we wanted to write our own sentences about pirates and made up stories in the small world area. We listened to lots of pirate stories and used gold coins to help us with our maths in the treasure chest.

    Pirates are great Arrrrr!
