YR4EB news @RF
Tue 21 Jan 2025Last week, in 4EB@RF, we had a fantastic parental engagement session within our Year 4 class, where students teamed up with their parents for a fun and challenging escape room activity! It was a great way to encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills. The puzzles were definitely tricky, and at times it seemed like the challenges were too much for them. But seeing the kids persist, help each other, and even laugh through the frustration was such a highlight. Everyone really came together to make the most of the experience, and it was a brilliant opportunity for parents to get a taste of what their children are learning in school. Can't wait for our next one.

YR5/6AD news @RF
Fri 20 Dec 2024This term, the talented students of Class 5/6AD @FP have been diving into the world of computing, exploring an important topic: copyright. They’ve learned how copyright affects the content they use and create, gaining an understanding of how to respect the work of others while building their own creative projects.
With this knowledge in hand, the class has put their skills to the test by designing and building their very own websites using Google Sites! Each student has chosen a unique topic they’re passionate about, creating informative, eye-catching pages that showcase their creativity and newfound digital skills.
The project involved learning about design principles, embedding media, and curating original or properly attributed content—all while keeping in mind the importance of staying on the right side of copyright laws. The results have been truly impressive, with students proudly sharing their work and inspiring each other to think critically about the digital world.
Have a look at their sites here:

R/1 LT news @RF
Mon 16 Dec 2024In R/1LT @RF, we have been learning to make teddy bears. In DT we designed a bear in our books and made notes on resources we need to make it. We joined two pieces of material together by sewing with a needle and thread. We used stuffing to pad it out and then a glue gun to stick on the eyes and paws. Some of our bears have bow ties! We are SUPER PROUD of our work.

YR6LD News @RF
Mon 09 Dec 2024This week, Year 6LD @RF has been working on their narrative writing skills, crafting compelling stories set during World War II. Drawing on their historical knowledge, students have created rich, imaginative narratives that bring the past to life, focusing on the experiences of people living through the war. From the hardships of life on the homefront to the bravery of soldiers on the battlefield, their stories reflect both the challenges and resilience of the time.
The class has worked hard to incorporate vivid details, historical accuracy, and emotional depth into their writing, making it both informative and engaging. We are incredibly proud of the creativity and thoughtfulness displayed by all the students, and we look forward to sharing some of their outstanding work with you soon!
Keep up the great work, Year 6LD!
