YR1CM news @RF
Year 1CM @RF have been learning in English how to write for different purposes. We decided to create ‘Teddy Bear’s Diary’ and have the experience so we would be even better equipped to write about it. The children were excited and it was amazing to see that everyone made such a great effort with photos and writing. Your children are the BEST!!!!!
In science we have been investigating how the shapes of solid objects made from some materials can be changed by squashing, bending, twisting and stretching. We found out that some objects could be bent, squashed, twisted and stretched, such as: play dough and fabrics.
Then the children went on to find other items in the classroom that bent easily: such as books and paper; squashed easily: such as blue tac; twisted easily such as: ribbon and string; stretched easily such: as elastic bands.
The children used their scientific language when observing, investigating and collecting their findings and reporting on them.
