On Tuesday, 2LB @RF visited the local area to investigate what human and physical features we could see along the way. We spotted trees and plants as well as lots of man-made things.

As well as this, we investigated why certain objects were made from certain materials. We used our geographical and scientific knowledge on our trip. We are going to find out if the predictions we made in our learning will be correct next week!

RLT have been busy this week! Our new reading cave is a big hit and we have been reading to all the characters in the cave. Some of us are really great at story telling!

We have learnt about Remembrance Day and made our own poppy wreath to show our respect.

And we are really enjoyed our maths  lesson on height, we have measured lots of things around our class and even measured who is taller or shorter in our class. We measured different things around us and then talked about what we discovered.

In Year 6LD @RF we have been looking at twisted fairy tales, comparing traditional tales to modern times. The children have enjoyed creating modern fairy tales. Did you know the wolf is actually innocent and was framed by the three little pigs who were late on their mortgage repayments? Children have enjoyed creating their own modern fairy tales with a twist. Here are some fabulous examples:

    • Goldilocks broke into the bears house, she vandalized their property and stole from them. Goldilocks is not as innocent as people think. Apparently in the past, she has eating candy from the witch’s house.
    • Little Red is known the local villain who terrorises the local community. She actually works for Mr Wolf.

Teachers are looking forward to hearing the more stories created by Year 6.

Last week year 6 @RF had a fantastic week away at PGL!

Throughout the week the children showed amazing resilience, bravery, maturity and determination. Not only were we all impressed but all the staff at PGL could not have been more complimentary about the behaviour and attitude of all the children that attended.

Throughout the week the children had the opportunity to try amazing activities such as: rock climbing, archery, rifle shooting, survival skills and buggy building to name a few. EVERY child showed such willing to attempt all tasks and really threw themselves into everything that was offered to them.

As a school we couldnt be more proud of the efforts that were shown throughout the week and know that all children enjoyed their time at PGL and will remember the experience for the rest of their lives.

Thank you for all that attended and the staff that went along to support.

In our (5EB @RF) mathematics lesson, students eagerly dove into common multiples. With a blend of curiosity and enthusiasm, they explored the concept of common multiples through engaging activities, collaborative problem-solving and making connections between numbers and patterns. As they worked on various tasks, students not only grasped the significance of common multiples but also discovered the practical applications of this mathematical concept in real-life scenarios.

    Thu 09 Nov 2023

This week in Nursery we’ve had some very naughty buses come to visit, luckily our nursery children have been able to remember all our green rules to help our naughty bus with making the right choice.

The children have been counting people onto the bus, as well as discussing journeys of where we can go to on a bus, we’ve also been using our imaginations to think where and what we might see on the bus... bet you’ve never seen a dinosaur and a fire breathing dragon on the 336!? The children & the naughty buses have been going on different adventures, we haven’t been driving through muddy puddles we’ve been driving through messy BEANS and blue slush, what will we get up too next?

YR4/5CR @RF have had a really positive start to this half-term. Today we were exploring 10,000 and 100,000. These photos show what 10,000 cm2 looks like. We worked collaboratively, deciding that creating blocks of 10cm x 10cm was the most efficient method. How many did we have to make?
