This week, in Year 1 LG @RF, the children have been learning about the artist Barbara Hepworth and exploring her amazing sculptures. We looked closely at her smooth shapes, holes, and natural forms, and talked about how she was inspired by nature.

The children then used clay to create their own sculptures inspired by Hepworth’s work. They learned how to roll, pinch, press, and smooth the clay, carefully adding holes and curved shapes just like the artist did. Everyone worked really hard and showed great creativity and concentration.
